<article> <section> <p>It's upper body & core Wednesday! Today we will give you this 3-block workout that really works your glutes and your upper body!</p> <p>We’re starting off block 1 with kneeling pushups. These are a great starting point to any push up variation. It’s really important to keep perfect form is essential in these to make them effective and learn them properly so you can progress. Make sure to keep your arms at 90 degrees and keep your glutes squeezed and pelvis tucked (don’t arch your back!).</p> <p>Next up are bicycles. Don’t clasp your fingers or support your head with your hands . Fingertips on the back of your head, not grasping hands on the back of your head. Make sure your lower back is maintaining contact with the ground. Bring your elbow to your knee as much as you can. These are amazing for core engagement and if you’re not feeling that burn, make sure you’re keeping your back flat on the ground. These are a great dynamic exercise that will get a number of muscle groups working. Try to keep your leg straight at you bring your bent leg to your opposite arm, and keep a pace that keeps perfect form.</p> <p>For block 2 we'll do up down dogs! Start in a downward dog position, keeping your hands planted and your feet on the floor if you can –– only go as far as you can without pain. From there, use your keep an active core and think about pushing your shoulders upward and you come forward and look up at the sky.</p> <p>Up next, I want you to do simple side bends! They are a great stretch that will work your obliques. Reach until you feel that burn while keeping your legs stable and planted.</p> <p>Block 3 is all about step jacks. Keep this whole exercise active by really pushing up your arms and stepping out your legs. These will get your heart rate up and leave you feeling amazing. If you’re not doing them right it can seem super easy to just step back in forth, but you want to make sure you’re keeping those arms active and really using those glutes to push your legs out. If you’ve been doing step jacks, I want to challenge you to try a few jumping jacks –– remember not to stomp your feet as you come down and take it slowly if you’re having difficulties.</p> <p>You ready? Let's do this!</p> </section> <section> <img style="max-width:100%;" class="img-fluid" src="https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/wm-wmade-static-media/media/public/Assets/Block_1.png" alt="Round One"> <div class="sub-head">20 seconds work |10 seconds rest |8 rounds</div> <div class="row justify-content-center text-center"> <div class="col-12 col-md-4"> <video class="d-block mx-auto" autoplay loop muted> <source src="https://d1ghrtdbdq2gkr.cloudfront.net/media/public/Assets/media/exercises/beginner/KNEELING-PUSHUP.webm" type="video/webm"> <source src="https://d1ghrtdbdq2gkr.cloudfront.net/media/public/Assets/media/exercises/beginner/KNEELING-PUSHUP.mp4" type="video/mp4"> </video> <p>KNEELING PUSHUPS</p> </div> <div class="col-12 col-md-4"> <video class="d-block mx-auto" autoplay loop muted> <source src="https://d1ghrtdbdq2gkr.cloudfront.net/media/public/Assets/media/exercises/beginner/BICYCLES.webm" type="video/webm"> <source src="https://d1ghrtdbdq2gkr.cloudfront.net/media/public/Assets/media/exercises/beginner/BICYCLES.mp4" type="video/mp4"> </video> <p>BICYCLES</p> </div> </div> </section> <section> <img style="max-width:100%;" class="img-fluid" src="https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/wm-wmade-static-media/media/public/Assets/Block_2.png" alt="Round One"> <div class="sub-head">60 seconds work |5 seconds rest |4 rounds</div> <div class="row justify-content-center text-center"> <div class="col-12 col-md-4"> <video class="d-block mx-auto" autoplay loop muted> <source src="https://d1ghrtdbdq2gkr.cloudfront.net/media/public/Assets/media/exercises/beginner/UP-DOWN-DOG.webm" type="video/webm"> <source src="https://d1ghrtdbdq2gkr.cloudfront.net/media/public/Assets/media/exercises/beginner/UP-DOWN-DOG.mp4" type="video/mp4"> </video> <p>UP DOWN DOGS</p> </div> <div class="col-12 col-md-4"> <video class="d-block mx-auto" autoplay loop muted> <source src="https://d1ghrtdbdq2gkr.cloudfront.net/media/public/Assets/media/exercises/beginner/SIMPLE-SIDE-BENDS.webm" type="video/webm"> <source src="https://d1ghrtdbdq2gkr.cloudfront.net/media/public/Assets/media/exercises/beginner/SIMPLE-SIDE-BENDS.mp4" type="video/mp4"> </video> <p>SIMPLE SIDE BENDS</p> </div> </div> </section> <section> <img style="max-width:100%;" class="img-fluid" src="https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/wm-wmade-static-media/media/public/Assets/Block_3.png" alt="Round One"> <div class="sub-head">20 seconds work |10 seconds rest |8 rounds</div> <div class="row justify-content-center text-center"> <div class="col-12 col-md-4"> <video class="d-block mx-auto" autoplay loop muted> <source src="https://d1ghrtdbdq2gkr.cloudfront.net/media/public/Assets/media/exercises/beginner/STEP-JACKS.webm" type="video/webm"> <source src="https://d1ghrtdbdq2gkr.cloudfront.net/media/public/Assets/media/exercises/beginner/STEP-JACKS.mp4" type="video/mp4"> </video> <p>STEP JACKS</p> </div> </div> </section> </article>
